How do I install an undermount solid surface sink?

June 10, 2016 Leave a Comment

  1. Sink must be flat – sand sink flange to make sure it’s flat.
  2. Locate sink location on countertop.  Make sure that the drain location is to the rear of the counter.
  3. Use hot melt glue blocks to keep sink in correct location.
  4. Clean the countertop and sink flange surfaces with denatured alcohol.
  5. Apply sufficient adhesive to sink flange.
  6. Turn sink over and set down onto the countertop (wrong side of top surface).
  7. Use Pinske Edge Sink Vacuum Clamps (#80900 or #80901) to secure the sink in place until the   adhesive has dried.  (Without Pinske Sink Vacuum Clamp, you’ll have to use a mechanical clamping  device or weights to secure the sink)
  8. Flip the countertop over.
  9. Use a 1″ Hole Saw to drill a pilot hole through the countertop (center bowl location).
  10. Use a Sink Trim Bit (#PE-831-1150) in a Router to remove the solid surface that is still over the sink bowl.
  11. Use an appropriate profile bit to finish routing.
