Various Sander Recommendations:
Festool – 6″ Rotex Sander
Use 100 Grit paper in Direct Drive (Up position) for Seams and Deep Scratches. Then for
finish sanding, switch to Random Orbit. Start in the corner of the project and evenly
and consistently rotate through all areas with each Sandpaper grit. Between paper
changes, wipe off the surface.
Quad Master Sander
This 15″ Random Orbit Sander is perfect for larger surfaces (islands, conference
tables, transaction tops, etc) it provides an even, consistent finish.
Gem Sander
When you have a really dark color, use a 6″ Sander to sand down to S500. Then
switch to the Gem Sander using Trizact paper – use Blue (A-10) and then
Orange (A-5). Lastly, buff with 3M-05955 Heavy Duty Rubbing Compound
2 to 3 times over the entire top with a polishing bonnet.
Dynabrade 5″ Air Sander
Use the 5″ Dynabrade and the Radius Pad for Cove. Use 100M, 80M, 60M
Dynabrade 3.5″ Air Sander
Use the flat pad for Sinks, Corners, underneath edges and to get the glue
line out of sink. Use 180 Grit and 220 Grit self stick paper (rolls of 100)
